2011 Car Classes and Rules

2011 ARRC by GRM Classes:

ASR, FS, FST, ITA, ITB, ITC, ITR, ITS, LC, SM5, STL plus all National (Runoffs) classes

Per the 2011 GCR and Category Specifications for each class.  With the exception of SM (see Item #38 in the event Supps), cars in Runoffs classes must be prepared per the specs for National events.

BS (B-Spec)

Per the 2011 GCR and Subsection 9.1.7.E.34 including the Category Specifications for SSC.

CF

Must conform to the 2011 GCR and Category specs for FF and use “hard” tires – Hoosier 60, Goodyear 600, American Racer, or Dunlop treaded tires.  In addition, every CF must be an ’84 or earlier FF with outboard suspension on at least one axle.

CFC – Club Formula Continental

1995 and earlier cars that conform to the 2011 GCR and Category specs for Formula Continental.

F6 – Formula 600

F500 cars powered by 600cc motorcycle engines conforming to the Atlanta Region rules for F6 found at www.AtlantaSCCA.org.

FFX

Must conform to the 2011 GCR and Category specs for FF with the following exception: the inlet restrictor on Honda-powered engines must be no greater than 31.0 mm.

GTA – Grand Touring America

Road racing stock cars prepared to the GTA section of either the 2011 or 2012 SEDIV Regional Class rules found at www.sedivracing.org.  In addition, any car fully complying with the stock car section of the 2011 TA-2 rules may compete in GTA at fifty (50) pounds over the PRR minimum weight.

IT7 – Improved Touring 7

First generation (1979-1985) RX-7s with a 12A engine that are prepared to the current ITA regulations.  May run any tire allowed by IT rules (i.e. – no spec tire).

ITO – Improved Touring Over

Per the ITO section of the SEDIV Regional Class rules found at www.sedivracing.org.

ITT – Improved Touring Truck

This is an Atlanta Region class introduced for the SCCA RaceTrucks (mini pickups) that ran in the late 1980s and early '90s. Trucks are prepped to IT levels but with a few additions: gutted head light assemblies, removal of bumpers, battery relocation, polycarbonate rear windows, etc. Rules may be found at www.AtlantaSCCA.org.


Pro-IT Race Rules

Because the ARRC Pro-IT race is the first event of the series' 2012 season, Pro-IT Classes and sessions will follow the 2012 Pro-IT Rules found on the Atlanta Region website at www.AtlantaSCCA.org.


SM2

SM2 is an Atlanta Region regional-only class for all 1990 through 1997 Mazda Miatas that comply with SCCA GCR and category specifications for Spec Miata (SM).  SM2 cars may compete on any tire that is specified in the 2011 or 2012 GCR for National competition (Toyo R-888, Toyo RA-1, or Hoosier SM-6).  All four tires on the car must be the same model, and all sessions for the ARRC Championship races must be run on the same model tire.  If a driver switches tire model from the previous session, all time from prior sessions will be thrown out.

SP2 & SP3 – Porsche 944 Cup & SuperCup

This is an Atlanta Region class for cars prepared to the 944 Cup Series rules. Rules may be found at www.AtlantaSCCA.org.

SPO – Super Production Over

Cars conforming to the GCR rules for Super Production with engines 2500cc and larger.  All Super Production cars with turbocharged or supercharged engines also fall into SPO.  Per the SPO section of the SEDIV Regional Class rules found at www.sedivracing.org.

SPU – Super Production Under

Cars conforming to the GCR rules for Super Production with normally aspirated engines 2499cc and smaller.  Per the SPU section of the SEDIV Regional Class rules found at www.sedivracing.org.

SSM – Showroom Spec Miata

SSM was conceived as an entry-level Regional class with emphasis on simplicity, equality and low cost.  Cars must be prepared to the MARRS SSM rules (found at www.wdcr-scca.org).
