SRF 25th Anniversary Needs Workers
WORKERS ARE NEEDED April 10th & 11th!
Participate in the 25th Anniversary of the Spec Racer class and Road Atlanta is the venue. 25 years ago, SCCA Enterprises began development on what has become the most successful spec race car in America; The Sports Renault. Three years later the car would switch to Ford power and become known as the Spec Racer Ford, or simply SRF. To date there have been over 850 Spec Racer chassis sold and the Spec Racer Ford is one of the most successful SCCA National classes. Trans Am Returns To Road Atlanta![]() National Supps Weekend Schedule PDX Supps Test Day Schedule Register for National/Pro-IT/PDX TransAm Registration Info The Atlanta Region SCCA is honored to be hosting the inaugural round of the 2009 Trans-Am season as part of our March 21-22 National weekend. Since that announcement at the PRI Show last week there's been a lot of heated discussion on various forums about how this will short-change the National and Pro-IT drivers that have supported this event over the years. Tain't so!The Pro-IT cars will get two 15-minute qualifying sessions on Saturday and end the day with the standard 20-lap Pro-IT race. Those Pro-IT drivers that are not eligible to run Nationals (in SM or STU) can leave Saturday evening if they choose, but we hope they'll hang around for the show on Sunday. For at least the last three years (since 2005) we've run six run groups of National cars at our spring event and we will continue to do that this year. As a National driver, you will be racing with the same cars you've always raced with at our events. We are also providing fifty minutes of practice/qualifying time for the National drivers - two 20-minute qualifying sessions on Saturday and our customary 10-minute warm-up on Sunday morning - where the GCR only requires that we offer 45 minutes (which is what most of the SEDIV National weekends offer). The National races will be the full 18-lap length and the Trans-Am race will be the last race, so that will have NO impact on racers who want to get an early start home. The only changes you might notice will be a slightly more crowded Paddock area and (hopefully) a bunch more spectators showing up to watch you race. This was NOT a decision we entered into lightly, and we hope you will continue to support this event. See you at the track... Butch KummerCompetition DirectorAtlanta Region SCCA |
