RE Report
Where do the months go? I find it astounding to believe it is June already and summer is upon us! I will try to keep this short and sweet
First, I’m sad to report the news of Fred Mac Isaac’s untimely death on April 21, 2009. Fred was the brother of Bob MacIsaac, our past RE as well as a long time member and past officer of Atlanta Region SCCA. Fred was a wonderful fun man who I considered my friend. He always had a smile on his face and a kind word. I feel privileged to have known him and I was so sad to hear of his passing. I want to extend my sincere condolences to Bob and hope you will do the same.
I also would like to extend my condolences to Butch and Harriet Kummer in the loss of Butch’s mother, Alice S Kummer, on June 1, 2009. From reading Butch’s email about his mother, she must have been an incredible woman to raise 5 “large” sons and live to be 86 years old. In Butch’s words “it’s entirely appropriate that the highlights of Sunday’s race at Dover were being replayed on TV at the time of her passing”. Butch, I know your mom will be missed and our prayers go out to you and your family.
The club is doing well for the first half of the year. Tom Sprecher is doing a wonderful job as treasurer. I appreciate everyone being mindful of his or her budgets. As of the last BOD meeting, we were right on track and possibly a little ahead of where we intended to be at this time. The Solo program continues to do very well under the watchful eye of Meredith and Team Solo and the Race Program under Butch’s watch is also rolling right along.
Please make sure to check the website often for updates and the latest club news and as always, I thank you for the opportunity to be your RE.
My best to you and yours.
