This 3-day weekend of racing will mark our 2012 season opener at world famous Road Atlanta. We will host a Double Saferacer National Racing Series event (that's 2 National Races during the weekend), plus an Atlanta Region Pro-IT Series race. We also plan (tentatively) to run a Southeast Division SCCA ECR event during the weekend.
During the Saturday lunch hour Track Tours are routinely offered so Participants and Spectators alike can enjoy a pleasant drive around the 2.54 mile circuit. Street cars are allowed on-track at safe speeds - no special safety equipment is needed. Drivers are asked to donate to our Worker Fund and sign a waiver to get on track. Information about the assembly point and time will be posted in the Media Center at the base of the Race Control Tower. In the meantime, you can read our Track Tour Guidelines on our website.
During the Sunday quiet hours the Region will also host a Level 1 Performance Driving Experience (PDX). This is for SCCA Members who want to take their street cars to the limit and learn the fast way around the twists and turns of Road Atlanta. Cars must pass a technical inspection and be track-worthy. Drivers must wear helmets and will be assigned instructors if they are new to the sport. Read our PDX Information section to learn more.
Check the front page of our website for the Schedule, Supplemental Regulations and a Registration link as we get closer to the event dates.
